Stanford University

Stanford sits in the heart of Silicon Valley in California, and that location shapes everything from internships to student startups. The sunny, red-tile-roofed campus is huge, with room for everything from design classes at the d.school to Division I athletics that regularly send athletes to the Olympics. Students are encouraged to mix fields, pairing computer science with art or biology with policy. If you want big ideas, entrepreneurial energy and year-round sunshine, this is the place.
