Temple University

Temple University, in North Philadelphia, began as evening classes for working Philadelphians and still carries that driven, hard-working spirit. It is a large public research university with a diverse student body and notable programs in media, business, the arts and health sciences. The campus has its own stop on the Broad Street Line subway, putting the whole city within reach, and Owls fans pack the stands for Philly sports and local pride. If you want a big city, big diversity and a school that values grit, Temple is worth a look.
