University of Chicago

The University of Chicago, in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, is known for intense intellectual debate and a shared Core curriculum that every undergraduate takes. Classes are discussion-driven and students are encouraged to question everything, a culture that has produced a long list of Nobel Prize winners. Student life has its own quirks, including the annual Scav Hunt scavenger hunt, and downtown Chicago is a quick train ride away. It suits students who love ideas for their own sake.
